Aunt Em & Sophia

check out those necklaces

We spent the morning with my friend Emily and her daughter Sophia. Her toys are much different than our "boy toys" at home. He really got into the baby's and necklaces. With Baby Binford #2 on the way, Grayson is obsesed with my tummy and hugging and kissing the baby every chance he gets. So he is into babies right now and Sophia's baby made real noises and Grayson loved that.

a few pictures from this weekend

had to snap a picture of "itty bitty" laying on Jamey's chest while he was watching tv this afternoon- you have to click on this picture and make it bigger to get the full effect of how funny this is

Grayson was watching a movie under his "tunnel", and I thought he looked so cute

my best friend's mom turned 60 this weekend. That would be my 27 week belly you can see poking through the pink tank top, only 3 more months to go! Baby growing = me happy! Sis is over on the otherside in the black dress.

New pictures

swimming to the step all by himself under water

swimming to Mrs. Tammy

floating to rest

Grayson loves "tunnels" lately. Tents are what they are, but "tunnels" are what Thomas the Train runs through so he wants a tunnel to play in.

please look at Grayson pushing his daddy out of the bed. I have a picture of me like this when I was little... I will post it if I can remember to.

This week has been very busy for us. I am teaching Vacation Bible School all week again, and Grayson is old enough to go this year which is very exciting. I LOVED VBS when I was little, the crafts were my favorite.... Grayson's is music time and learning the songs. We bought the cd and it is played over and over and over and over again when we are in the car. That boy loves music! Our program is tomorrow night, so I am sure his daddy will be taking lots of pictures that I can post. Swimming lessons are going great! It so hot and I am sweating like a pig out there, but Grayson has caught on so fast and is swimming great. One of the things I love about this program he is in, is they don't want the kids using floating devices (floaties, noodles) because they say it confuses the kids on how to distribute their body weight on how to float and swim. He has got the hang of it, and it is so neat to see him under the water swimming to the side by himself to get out, and he isn't scared. Mrs. Tammy, his swimming instructor, calls him "little fish". I will have Jamey upload the video of him swimming soon.

The Happy Heart Family!

Aunt Pretty, Mea-Mall, Josh

Monday was Grayson's 3rd Heart Day. It was 3 years since his little heart was fixed. Jamey and I would like to give a shout out to God, and Dr. Forbess! And also to all the people that prayed for him (and us) during that difficult time. A big day for our little family. This day is bigger to us than his birthday. Every year we celebrate and praise God for His answer to our prayers. This year was a Sundae Party that we held Sunday afternoon. We had heart shaped brownies with ice cream and every kind of topping you could imagine. I think (I know) the adults liked the sundae's more than the kids! All I have to say, is that I have eaten a sundae everyday since Sunday because we have so much left over. I hope I don't have a heart attack before this baby gets here from all the sundaes I am eating. The kids jumped on the trampoline, swam in the pools, and ran around like crazy ones. Such a special, emotional day every year for Jamey and I. Enjoy the pictures! Ok... I had to add this... Grayson has been in bed for and hour, he just came out here wanting me to read to him. SO cute, and when I said no and that it was bed time he screams "YES MAMA! Read book!! Yes book!!" So funny. He is back in bed now after: more ice in his water, going potty, putting aquafore on his lips and giving him Nemo to sleep with(each a separate request as I was shutting the door each time) Still the most precious angel on earth, even when he pulls that. Pictures to come of my sister Haley's wedding. Grayson was the ring bearer and tore the dance floor up that night.

More Swim Lesson Pictures

Just some more pictures from swim lessons. He really is doing good! Holding his breath under water, swimming to the side, eyes open under water to look for something to grab on to, and pulling himself up out of the water.

Annual Heart Check-up

Today went BETTER than expected for my sweet Grayson. I am so happy for his health and the great news we recieved on him. Grayson was an angel for his tests, and for the echo of his heart- WOW! He was amazing. NO sedation needed (not that I would have even let that happen- but it wasn't even brought up!) Good thing, because I cried at the drop of a hat all day, I can only imagine what I would have been like if they even mentioned that word to me. Not only that, but since his heart has been doing so well, we now only have to go back every 2 years! That means he will be 5 when he has to go again! Dr. Blumenschine, his cardiologist, said his "zipper" (his scar, or what we call here at the house our reminder of answered prayer) was beautiful and could hardly see it, and that his heart looked so good he could be 18 before he needs his valve put in. She is on the VERY optimistic side, but we liked what we heard. I know this can change as he gets older but I loved hearing this today! I think this news will hold me over for the next 2 years until we go back. I have seen what some of the other kids have to live like that have what Grayson has, and it is so heartbreaking for everyone involved. Grayson has been truly, truly BLESSED and Jamey and I are so grateful beyond words. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support, and more importantly, Praise Jesus for healing our little boy and allowing him to be a beacon of God's light in this world. At this same trip at Children's Hospital today, I had a fetal echo done on "baby binford". They found a small vsd on the baby's heart (a small hole in the heart). They did the echo because Grayson was born with a heart defect, all future baby binford's will have fetal echo's (heart checks while inside of me) "just to make sure". This vsd was so small it was not seen by my OB doctor, it was not seen by the specialist, and it was not seen by the cardiologist on the 1st echo I had. It was only seen when the baby moved clear around at the end of this echo today, and it was almost missed today. They told us it is very common, and that most go unknown because hardly anyone gets fetal echo's. 3 things can be a result of this: 1. the hole closes before birth 2. the hole closes after birth 3. the hole never closes and they do nothing. The 4th and worst case is if the vsd is larger than what they can see on the echo, and then never closes, then the baby would need heart surgery after birth. She said she doubts this would be the case, as it looks very small. She said these days with the technology they have, some things are seen before they have had a chance to work themselves out. Too much info is too much info sometimes. All other areas of the heart look perfect she said. Jamey and I are not worried about the heart, when they told us so many of these go unknown in utro because most people don't have these test, it made us feel fine about it all . They said the hole is slight and will not get bigger. We believe he just needs time to finish growing. He said "God's not finished with me yet!" We ask you to continue to pray for Grayson's heart, but add this new baby to your prayers for all to be perfect and healthy. Enjoy the pictures of Grayson today. He got to watch Finding Nemo during his Echo- he was in heaven! He loves that movie!

1st day of ISR swim lessons

nap time today right before I woke him up for swim lessons- he was so excited right before he went to sleep. The child sleeps with SO much stuff! Look at that bed and that is not showing a 1/4 of his sleep stash!

Dressed and ready to leave to meet Mrs. Tammy

in the water, with Mrs. Tammy

after he got out of the pool I said "How was it? Did you like it?!" This is the look I got!

Grayson started a program called ISR today. It is incredible. If you are not familiar with ISR it is a class that teaches babies 6 months to 6 years old how to survive if they were to fall into water. They test out of the program by falling into the pool fully clothed and swimming to the side by using the "swim-float-swim" method they are teaching them. Here is an amazing video of a baby that falls in the water and floats to survive by using the ISR training. The older kids in the video that swim AND float is what Grayson is learning. Today was crazy! I wasn't sure what to expect, and we got there a little early. TOO EARLY! Grayson got to experience this baby freaking out and screaming his heads off while in the water. I tried to distract him by pointing out a lizard on the tree but he was looking around me at this child in the water with Mrs. Tammy and I am sure he was thinking "Ain't NO way I am getting in that water!" Once again I bribed him with 2 M&M's (worked when I potty trained him a year ago) and it worked this time too. I told him he was a big boy and if he didn't scream like those babies (there was 2 back to back) I would give him M&M's. He said "ok mommy!" He got in and was an angel and earned his 2 M&M's. We will see if same holds true tomorrow! Check out the video of this program http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1107113/isr_baby_surviving_drowning/

Weekend at Nani & Popi's house

Nani & Grayson

Daddy & Grayson having fun

my precious boys

The shower was a couples shower so Jamey's dad and wife Christi came in for the shower
My sister in-law is pregnant also, we are only 5 weeks apart. She is having a girl, and we went to my in-laws house this weekend to throw her a shower. Here are some pictures of Jamey and Grayson enjoying their "lazy days". Something funny Grayson said this weekend, at 4:00 in the morning: He woke up and said "Mama, get up" I told him no, it was still time to be asleep, and that the moon was still out. He goes, "No mama, moon go down- Gray swim!" Ha! I told him no, and we have to sleep when the moon is up. He went back to sleep, but at 9:00 when he woke up, Jamey and I were still asleep and he goes "MAMA! SUN UP!! Gray swim!" :)
