Rockin' out my new guitar

Rockin' it out on his new guitar

Madison & Marshall

Madison & Grayson being silly

My mom was telling me when I picked Grayson up this afternoon how impressed his teachers were with Grayson today. They played a game that resembled the "cake walk" and whatever they landed on they had to say what it was. She said Grayson was calling out the letter he landed on, the color, the number etc... Grayson doesn't talk much, but he knows a lot. You wouldn't know it just by sitting with him since he is so quiet. But you would if you interacted with him. He recognizes and can tell you almost all of the letters of the alphabet (capital) and about half of the lowercase letters. He recognizes all his colors and shapes and numbers 1-10. Before he could actually say the numbers he was holding up the correct number of fingers to answer us. Now we spell words on the fridge and he tries to sound them out. It is so amazing to watch children figure things out. I get to do that not only with him, but with twenty-one 5 & 6 year olds each day. He tries to write his name- but ends up writing #1 and letter O. And he will say "o" as he writes it and "1" as he writes it.... not quite his name! We will keep at it!

Enjoying his Christmas gifts

PopPop taking Grayson out to jump on his new trampoline for the first time

saying "hi" as he got in the 1st time

Aunt Pretty and Grayson, you have to click on this picture to make it bigger to see how precious it is!
me & Grayson
I found the boys like this in the kitchen floor coloring together- I love this picture and what a great father and husband Jamey is
Grayson counting with Popi on the webcam, if you click on this picture to make it bigger you can see Popi on the computer counting with Grayson

Grayson got a Logitech webcam from Jamey's parents. It is the coolest thing ever! Grayson couldn't quite figure out why Popi was on the computer screen talking and asking him questions, but after about 15 min he was jumping, spinning, waiving, counting and talking to him like he was here. We love it, and I it is a great way for them to not be "so far away" all the time. And his trampoline is great! It has the pads and safety net to keep him in and secure. It also has hooks on the outside of the safety net so that there is no way at all he can get out. He is a jumping machine! We are going to put him on the Jeep Mimi & Pa gave him this weekend, Jamey and I can't wait to teach him how to drive it.

Making sugar cookies

they just got their dough and were busting at the seams to eat it

the process begins

Hayley, Grayson, Hannah

icing time

yummmmy!

Hayley and Hannah (I taught Hannah 2 years ago, and Hayley is in my class this year) came over for a "fun girl night". They are such a precious family, and two of the most precious, well mannered children I know. They love coming to play with Grayson and Grayson absolutely loves them. Here are some pictures of them and Grayson making sugar cookies, and then enjoying their treat. Grayson did not want to go to bed since the girls and him were having SO much fun, so we did a "mock exit".... like they do at weddings for the photos! Ha! We loaded the girls up in their back packs, waved good-bye, opened the door, and out they went. (they secretly knew to stand there for 1.5 seconds while I whisked Grayson away to his room, and Jamey let them right back in as I turned the corner.) Grayson bought the "mock exit", went right to bed, and then we stayed up with the girls and played Wii! The next morning, we got up and had pancakes, and the girls wanted me to fix their hair "so pretty". Grayson was so sad they left, but we will do it again soon.

More pictures of our winter vacation

P and Grayson coloring... he decided to shorten "Popi" to "P" this past week... I think it is precious! Yelling "P....P"

we woke up one morning and it was snowing SO much... I bundled Grayson up, and we went outside for him to experience another piece of God's beautiful work. It snowed most of that day.

Right before we hit the slopes
another one... I liked this picture too....
one more....
Grayson playing one of the many Thomas games on the computer that he loves eating bean and cheese nachos I made him. I found these organic, gluten free chips... I was in heaven and so was he!
ANOTHER ginger bread house. He loved the others that he made throughout the season, and these were on clearance at the grocery store in Colorado, so I had to buy it... secretly I almost bought 8..... one for each day we were there. But I knew that Jamey would have thought I lost my mind, so I settled for one. This is him and Uncle D (Jamey's brother) making it. I think Uncle D was just as excited as Grayson!

loaded up in the hiking backpack ready to go shopping
Grayson loved it!

all smiles

We have been in Keystone for 5 days, and we have 3 more to go. The house we are staying in is 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom and it is amazing. It is ski in/ski out meaning you don't have to drive. We are right on the mountain. They also have night skiing here, the mountains are all lit up. Jamey has gone at night, but I haven't yet, probably tomorrow night. Grayson looks precious in his ski bib. Last night, New Years Eve, was so fun. We went to a coffee shop and watched about 100 skiers come down the mountain with red flashlights, and then ended with a show of fireworks. 8 days of relaxation is just what we needed... don't we all!
