Grayson's elbow

My sister moved out of my old house and I have been cleaning it getting it ready. Thursday afternoon we were there and the boys were dancing to their new VBS cd when the next thing I knew Gray ran around the corner screaming a very weird scream. Long story short we go to the ER and its a broken elbow. I had all 3 with me and sweet little Denton was so scared for Gray he is crying rivers of silent tears. I had to carry Gray into the ER so Denton got Layla and walked her in the Emergency Room across the parking lot holding her had saying "sister stop we have to look for cars" as they crossed each row of the parking lot. He was an awesome big brother. I wish I had a picture of my 3 year old taking care of my 1 year old - that relationship is like nothing I have ever seen before. When we got in the ER, I am still carting a screaming boy and Denton reached down to Layla, kissed her lips and said "good listening sister we made it" then I start crying.  Motrin doesn't touch the pain Gray had. Codeine doesn't touch the pain. So 3 hours later when we make it to the second ER (children's in Dallas) they start an IV of morphine and he settles down. Poor guy. The admit him, start for cardiac clearance because of his heart, for surgery in the morning. Around midnight he is throwing up all the meds that don't sit we'll with his tummy. He had some scared with his heart- his heart rate went down to 60 and into erythema. Long story short - cardiac team was with him during surgery and he did great! 2 pins were inserted and stick out if the elbow that will be removed in 3 weeks. 48 hours after surgery he wasn't allowed to move and is couch or bed bound for 2 months so the bone can heal- no running with D trying to re break it. He must have been filled with the Holy Spirit to be dancing that crazy.

VBS 2013

This week was so much fun!! This wasDenton's  first year to go with Gray and mommy, and was not loving the idea at first. We had the death grip around moms neck and hair so if I moved an inch he was taking me down! He was crying but he does this silent cry thing when he is scared- rivers of tears and locked on but never makes a sound. I decided to let him sit with Gray and me during opening songs and then after about 10 min. I moved him back to his group to sit with his class and Gray sat with him. He was perfectly fine when it was time for the classes to split and go on their own. I got a big boy wave and a smile. He even blew mommy a kiss. The first four days were awesome until Thursday afternoon when Gray broke his elbow and we all had to miss Friday since he was having surgery. So happy Denton loved it- but then again how could you not?

Grayson's Heart Check

We had a long day at Children's Hospital in Dallas today for Gray's heart check. He was, as always, such a brave little boy. End results today were wonderful! No need of surgery anytime soon and his heart repair still looks beautiful. Jesus has been with this little boy and our family every second of his life and I am so thankful for the miracles He has worked in our son. I know there will come a day when we will have to do this all over again, but today and the next couple of years, we don't!
